Transform the Mundane into the Extraordinary

Same Environment, Different Experience

Often we have different experiences when we travel or go places we have never been.  New sites, sounds, tastes often awaken different parts of us.  This is why most “retreats” involve traveling to a new – and sometimes exotic – place.

I have traveled to many retreats – from visiting the vortexes in Sedona, to an exotic island in Korea, even to the bustling city of Paris – and they were all wonderful!  But this “retreat” was different – it was my first “stay at home” retreat and my experience was even more amazing!

We expect something different when we travel, but we rarely expect something different when we stay home.  My location didn’t change but I sure did.

My experience of my familiar surroundings – my city and even my own neighborhood – changed.  The mundane was transformed into the extraordinary.  And I saw new possibilities that I had never even thought about before.

More about these extraordinary experiences in ordinary places in the next post (^_^)

All the Best – Cynthia

  2. The inner journey continues in the outer world. You are turning things inside out as I believe they were meant to be. The result is “Presence.” Good job!

This is a wonderful insight into spaces. Many of us forget to truly appreciate the space around us. I love that you found transformation in the space that you already built for yourself. I look forward to hearing about more of your transformations.

Reminds me of the story of the Alchemist who after traveling the world found treasure in his own back yard.
